Indian actress Kajol recently spoke about her experience of raising her daughter Nysa Devgan, sharing that their relationship had gone through a challenging phase before becoming stronger over time.

In a recent conversation on a podcast with Lilly Singh, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress said that parenting during her daughter's teenage years had not been easy and required patience and understanding from both sides.

She explained that there was a period when misunderstanding and frequent disagreement had created distance between them. Kajol said, “Hormones hit, and she was 12. We were all over the place. We were fighting, and we were both irrational and illogical at times.”

The Sarzameen actress shared that she later decided to change her approach and focus more on communcation insted of conflict. She added that she made a conscious effort to listen more and respond calmly during difficult moments.

Kajol said, “Being the adult, I decided I should be more rational. I chose to talk to her instead of fighting as much, to keep communicating till she starts listening.”

She further revealed that this phase had continued for nearly three years, during which both mother and daughter struggled to understand each other.

Kajol said, “It became about me sitting down and listening to her. Giving her the space to talk and be heard made the biggest difference. That was my biggest learning.”

Her recent work included films and OTT projects, and she is next expected to appear in Maharagni: Queen of Queens alongside a strong ensemble cast.
