Karisma Kapoor’s children get relief in Sunjay Kapur estate case
The court ordered that Sanjay Kapur's estate be protected from any major changes
After months of growing tension around the estate of late businessman Sunjay Kapur, a new court order has added another layer to the family dispute involving actor Karisma Kapoor and her children.
The Delhi High Court has granted interim relief to the children of the 51-year-old actress and her late ex-husband, ordering that the businessman’s assets be protected for now.
The court has also stopped Sunjay Kapur’s widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur, from creating third-party interests in those assets until the matter is examined further.
At the centre of the dispute is a will reportedly dated March 2025. According to court proceedings, the document leaves Sunjay’s personal wealth entirely to Priya Kapur.
But Karisma Kapoor’s children have challenged the will, questioning whether it is genuine and claiming it may have been fabricated.
The court said the concerns raised around the will would need detailed examination during trial proceedings. Until then, it noted there was enough reason to keep the estate protected from any major changes.
As part of the interim directions, Priya Kapur has been restrained from selling shares, changing company holdings, or accessing certain bank accounts and financial assets.
Some overseas accounts and cryptocurrency holdings have also been paused temporarily.
However, the court clarified that properties outside India are not covered under this order.
For the unversed, Sunjay Kapur died in the UK in June 2025 while playing golf.
