In its first round of renewal decisions for the 2026-2027 season, NBC has decided not to bring back Brilliant Minds.

The network has ended the run of the sophomore series starring Zachary Quinto, as per Variety.

First hitting screens in 2024, Brilliant Minds followed Dr. Oliver Wolf, played by Zachary Quinto, a gifted neurologist battling mental health challenges and face blindness.

The drama was loosely based on the work of celebrated late neurologist Oliver Sacks.

Although Season 2 debuted in September, NBC later removed the series from its lineup following the Olympics, with the final batch of episodes scheduled to roll out this summer starting May 27, as per Entertainment Weekly.

According to Variety, NBC removed the series from its schedule in February after its viewership began to decline.

The medical drama also stars Teddy Sears, Tamberla Perry, Brian Altemus, Alex MacNicoll, Ashleigh LaThrop, Donna Murphy and more.

However, Brilliant Minds isn’t the only show that faced such an end. The new mockumentary Stumble also had the same fate, except it was cancelled after one season.
