Rahul Roy denies 'abandonment' claims: 'At least I am earning through hard work'
Rahul Roy speaks out against online trolling
Rahul Roy has finally spoken out against online trolling, denying claims of financial hardship.
The actor, widely known for his lead role in Mahesh Bhatt’s Aashiqui, took to Instagram to shut down rumours about being 'abandoned.'
He asserted that he is financially stable despite preferring to lead a simple life. He also added that he has access to all basic necessities, including food, clothing, and transport.
His statement read, “I do my work with honesty and modesty. I have some legal matters to pay for, and these are not recent; they date back to before my brain stroke.
“If you mock my simplicity or make fun of my struggles, it says less about me and more about you. If you are truly concerned, then help me find some genuine and decent work so I can pay for these cases.
“At least I am earning through hard work, not by mocking others. After the brain stroke, it is important for me to stay active. I want to work for as long as I am alive. It keeps my mind active and gives me a sense of purpose and responsibility. Yes, it may hurt a little sometimes, but you cannot break me.”
This comes hot on the heels of his appearance in music-video-style reels that were shot before his 2020 brain stroke.
On the professional front, the actor rose to fame with his iconic portrayal in the 1990 film.
