Imran Khan opens up about parenthood: 'It’s not about fulfilling a role'
Imran Khan has opened up about the beauty of parenthood, revealing why he believes the role is not confined to one gender.
The Katti Batti actor, who shares daughter Imara Malik Khan with former wife Avantika Malik, spoke at length about his stance on viewing parenting through a gendered lens.
In a recent conversation with Parineeti Chopra on her podcast Mom Talks, Imran shared his experience of parenting as he watched his daughter grow up amid his split from Malik.
He said, “I did not view it as my duty; I always saw it as my privilege. The time I spent with my child is something I wanted for myself. It’s not about fulfilling a role, but about experiencing joy, love, and connection.”
Khan also explained why it’s important for both genders to be involved, describing parenting as a shared experience.
The I Hate Luv Storys actor pointed out the importance of respectful communication, rooted in a healthy relationship between parents and children.
For the unversed, Imran and Avantika tied the knot in 2011 and separated after eight years of marriage in 2019.
