'The Boys' series finale gets early release
Fans can be excited to learn that they will be able to watch the The Boys season 5 finale both on Amazon Prime Video later this month and in 4DX-equipped movie theaters.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the show’s official account announced on May 5, "In two weeks, we’re going out with a bang."
Continuing, “Literally, because ya might vibrate watchin’ the series finale in 4DX. Get yer mitts on a seat with the purchase of a concession voucher, which is good towards sweets or soda the day of. See ya May 19 at 9:30 p.m."
Speaking to Variety, an Amazon MGM Studios representative said additional screening details will be announced later on Tuesday by 4DX.
The Boys now joins a rising trend of streaming series getting theatrical finale events, following HBO Max’s The Pitt season 2 finale screenings at Alamo Drafthouse locations and Netflix’s limited cinema release of Stranger Things’ final episode.
The Boys, which debuted in 2019, was created by Eric Kripke (Supernatural), Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg, and is adapted from the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
Those unable attend the theaters can watch the series finale on May 20 on Prime Video.
