Tony Awards 2026 nominations highlighted a strong season of new musicals and revivals but left out several high-profile celebrity names including Kim Kardashian.

New musicals The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon! led the nominations with 12 each, while a revival of Ragtime followed closely with 11 nods earning recognition across major categories including best musical, acting and design.

The nominations were announced by Uzo Aduba and Darren Criss ahead of the June 7 ceremony reflecting a Broadway season shaped by ambitious productions and strong audience turnout.

This year also saw a wave of celebrity involvement on stage and behind the scenes.

Stars like Adrien Brody, Tessa Thompson and Patrick Ball made Broadway appearances while Kardashian joined the list of celebrity producers with The Fear of 13. Barack Obama was also credited as a producer on Proof.

Despite the star power none of those celebrity-driven projects or names received nominations.

The outcome underscores how this year’s nominations leaned heavily toward critically backed productions even as celebrity involvement in Broadway continues to grow.
