Riddhima Kapoor has admitted to being the oldest debutant of the Kapoor family as she gears up for her first film at the age of 45.

In an exclusive interview with SCREEN, the actress spoke at length about pursuing her dream career at this age, just a few years after her father, Rishi Kapoor, passed away.

Opening up about her experience of facing the camera on a film set for the very first time, Riddhima acknowledged, “It truly feels surreal and deeply emotional. There’s a sense of everything coming full circle. I know my father is always with me, blessing me in anything and everything that I choose to do. That thought gives me a lot of strength and comfort.”

In addition, the Indian fashion designer revealed that since it was her first time shooting for Ashish R. Mohan’s wedding comedy Daadi Ki Shaadi, she had to leave her daughter in New Delhi as she stepped into an entirely new world.

She added, “Honestly, the biggest challenge was stepping into an entirely new world at this stage of life. There’s a certain vulnerability in starting fresh, but also a lot of excitement at the same time.”

For the unversed, the film is slated to release on May 8.
