In a move to avoid a major box office clash, Prabhas’ upcoming film Spirit was reported to be getting a new release date.

According to India media reports, the makers had earlier planned to release the film on March 5. However, that date was expected to coincide with Salman Khan’s coming project, which was targeting an Eid 2027 release. 

An industry source told Mid-Day, “Salman Khan locked Eid 2027, which will fall in early March, for his coming with Nayanthara. Once that date was taken, it didn’t make sense for Spirit to arrive in the same window.”

The source further said, “Vanga’s films rely heavily on sustained buzz and clean runs. So, the delay is a calculated move, not due to production issues.”

The report stated that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was now planning to shift the film’s release to December 1. The change was said to help the film get a clear run in cinemas without competition from another big release.

It was also reported that the new date would not impact the film’s shooting program. The team had been aiming to complete the main shoot by early 2027.

The insider added, “Vanga wants enough room for editing, background score, and preparing it in Hindi, Telugu, and other languages.”

Earlier, the first-look poster of Spirit had been revealed, featuring Prabhas alongside Triptii Dimri. The image showed Prabhas with a wound back, while Triptii was seen lighting a cigarette, which drew attention online.

As of now, the makers had not made an official announcement about the new release date.
