Indian actor-director Riteish Deshmukh spoke about the response to his film Raja Shivaji, which had been performing strongly in theatres after its release.

The film, based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, had opened to a strong launch at the box office and continued to draw audiences over the weekend. Reports stated that the film recorded high earnings in its first few days.

Speaking about the audience's reaction, Riteish said he had been encouraged to see families coming together to watch the film. He stated, “When I see people taking their families, making groups, taking their grandparents, there are a lot of people who have never seen a film, they are taking their grandchildren.”

He added, “After going inside, everyone feels something. After coming out, they make a video and post it, telling you to watch this film.”

The Housefull 5 actor also spoke about how audience support had helped the film gain attention. He said, “I think this is the moment when the audience accepts a film. That feeling is very good for the makers because when the audience accepts a film, they themselves start promoting it.”

Talking about the theme of the film, he shared that it presented parts of history that are not widely discussed. He said, “I believe that when a story is presented to you on a large screen, they will know that there are a lot of things that are not shown in the history books.”

As per reports, Raja Shivaji had recorded a strong opening weekend and continued its run with steady collections in the following days.
