'Spirit' release date is locked, Prabhas film is set for 2027
According to the official update shared by film trade sources, the project was progressing as planned and there was no postponement
The release plan of the much-awaited film Spirit stayed on track as the makers officially confirmed the release date, ending all ongoing speculation about delays.
The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas in the lead role, was announced to release in cinemas worldwide on March 5, 2027.
According to the official update shared by film trade sources, the project was progressing as planned and there was no postponement. A post stated, “The film is progressing exactly as planned and will arrive in cinemas worldwide on 5 March 2027.”
The cast includes Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj, and Kanchana in the leading roles. Bhushan Kumar and Pranay Reddy Vanga produce it.
The project had also been in the spotlight due to casting changes during its early development.
Earlier, according to India media reports, the makers had earlier planned to release the film on March 5. However, that date was expected to coincide with Salman Khan’s coming project, which was targeting an Eid 2027 release.
An industry source told Mid-Day, “Salman Khan locked Eid 2027, which will fall in early March, for his coming with Nayanthara. Once that date was taken, it didn’t make sense for Spirit to arrive in the same window.”
The source further said, “Vanga’s films rely heavily on sustained buzz and clean runs. So, the delay is a calculated move, not due to production issues.”
