Shekhar Suman has expressed admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, praising the actor for his kindness and generosity.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shekhar recalled how the King actor approached him for a voiceover in Chalte Chalte.

He told the outlet, “I remember when Shah Rukh was making Chalte Chalte and he needed my voice for the commentary in the film. So when the teaser came, he called me up directly after that, ‘Hi, it’s Shah Rukh.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, Shah Rukh.’ He said, ‘I would want you to come and give your voiceover for this.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, I’ll come.’ So I just went across and did that.”

The Heeramandi actor also revealed that the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai star sent him a cheque in order to reward him for his work. However, Suman rejected the offer, and Khan was left with no choice but to gift him an expensive watch.

“But he wouldn’t listen. Shah Rukh being Shah Rukh, he sent me a very expensive watch the next time, which I still have. And it’s a beautiful memento,” he added.

On  professional front, Shekhar last starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, marking a notable collaboration with the filmmaker after previously missing out on Devdas.
