Ariana Grande announces release date of first single from ‘Petal’
Ariana Grande is set to release the first single from her upcoming eighth studio album, Petal, on May 29.
The single, Hate That I Made You Love Me, was announced through the Grammy-winning singer’s Instagram handle, where she described it as “one of my favorite songs that I’ll ever write.
“produced by my favorite collaborators and dearest human beings in the world, the brilliant @ilya_music, the one and only max martin,” she added of Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh, key producers on Grande's 2024 album Eternal Sunshine.
“I simply cannot wait for it to be yours,” she concluded.
Petal, co-written and executive produced by Ariana Grande alongside Ilya Salmanzadeh, is set for release on July 31 through Republic Records.
Announcing the project, Grande described the album as a work that finds beauty and growth in difficult circumstances, calling it “something that is full of life” emerging through “something cold and hard and challenging.”
Salmanzadeh, widely known in the industry simply as Ilya, has collaborated closely with producer Max Martin over the years. He also played a major role in Grande’s 2024 album Eternal Sunshine, while contributing to chart-topping releases for artists including Taylor Swift and Sam Smith.
