Becoming a parent often changes how people look at life, and Indian actress Kiara Advani recently shared how motherhood had made her more of her own habits and feelings.

The Shershaah actress, who welcomed daughter Saraayah with Sidharth Malhotra last year, spoke about parenting, family values and emotional growth during a recent podcast conversation.

Kiara said she still looked for approval from her parents despite her success in the film industry

“Validation from the world is one thing, but validation from your parents is completely different,” she said.

She added, “They never put pressure on me, but somewhere you always wanted to make them proud.”

During the discussion, the Satyaprem Ki Katha actress also spoke about growing up in a loving home and how it shaped her personality over the years.

“I think when there’s a lot of love and safety at home, children naturally don’t want to disappoint their parents,” she shared.

The War 2 actress admitted that she had become more aware of certain patterns in her personality after marriage and motherhood.

“Post-marriage and motherhood, I became more aware of certain habits and patterns in myself,” Kiara said.

She further explained that she did not want her daughter to grow up trying too hard to please others.

“I definitely didn’t want her to become a people pleaser like me,” she stated.

Kiara also shared that she wanted her daughter to always feel emotionally secure at home.

“I wanted her to feel safe enough to tell us anything,” she said. “Even if she did something wrong, I wanted her to know she could come home and talk to us without fear. ”

Talking about her childhood, Kiara revealed that her parents focused more on value and respect than academic pressure.

The Kabir Singh actress also praised her parents for always being present during her growing- up years.

“My parents were always there whenever we needed them,” she said.

Kiara and Sidharth Malhotra welcomed their daughter Saraayah in July 2025. The couple later introduced her name publicly and described her as a “divine blessing.”
