Anupam Kher has requested the government to transform the iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge railway track into a tourist spot, keeping its memory alive for generations to come.

The film, which went on to become one of the most defining films in the history of Indian cinema, still reminds fans of the scene where Kajol’s Simran runs towards the love of her life, Raj, played by Shah Rukh Khan, at Apta Railway Station.

Remembering the scene from the 1995 film, Kher, who portrayed the role of Raj’s father, Dharamvir, shared a photo of the railway station as he arrived on Monday, May 11.

He reminded fans of the iconic train scene, urging the government to make proper use of the station as a tourist spot.

He wrote in the caption, “I have come to a railway station. An iconic scene from an iconic film was shot here. It is a part of Indian cinema history that every Indian around the world must have seen and remembered.

"The scene is from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. It's like going to Sicily for a sequence of The Godfather. These are iconic places. Thank you to Yash ji and Adi for having me in this iconic film.”

In addition, the veteran actor noted that both Shah Rukh and Kajol made history with their phenomenal acting skills.
