Lisa Kudrow has opened up about what she thinks about rise of AI
American actress Lisa Kudrow has lifted the lid off her feeling about the threats of Artificial Intelligence and how it has become a threat.
The actress, who rose to fame as Phoebe Buffay of Friends, shared her reservations about the growing use of AI.
The 62-year-old addressed the discourse after her character Valerie in The Comeback found herself being used in an AI sitcom.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she was asked if she worries how it will affect her image to which she replied “Yeah, I do. But I don’t know. It’s a tool but generative AI technology is a different thing than people playing around and making fan art or fan fiction.”
She continued “The problem becomes when they can monetise it and create something that can be used however they want. Or when studios decide they can use your image however they want.”
Lisa said it makes her nervous as it should be required to take permission from the estate of someone who has passed away.
With the rise of AI content on social media, celebrities who have passed away have been created through AI video and picture generators which has left many disappointed.
