The wait for thrilling battles and dark twists is almost over.

Prime Video confirmed that season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will release later this year.

Fans can finally mark their calendars, as the third season of show is officially coming out on November 11.

Amazon revealed the premiere news before its upfronts event in New York City, alongside a fresh image featuring Sauron, played by Charlie Vickers, appearing in a crown.

The hit series takes place thousands of years before the events of the original films and books, unfolding during the Second Age of Middle-earth.

As per the official description, there is a time jump of several years between season two and three.

It is set to pick up “at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war, bind all peoples to his will; and at last rule all Middle-earth.”

Season 1 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is still Amazon’s biggest TV launch ever, while season 2 has become one of its top five most-watched returning series, as per Amazon.
