British pop star Rita Ora recalled meeting the royal family for the first time.

The singer admitted she was severely anxious when she met the then-Prince Charles, who eventually became the king in 2022.

The I Will Never Let You Down singer first met the monarch at the Prince's Trust Celebrate Success Awards ceremony at the London Palladium in 2016.

Recalling the event, she said she was so anxious that she felt like she was “going to faint”.

Speaking to The Sun, she said “2016 was the first time I met His Royal Highness. He is so lovely - all of the Royal Family are.”

“I look at the photos and all I see is anxiety. I was so anxious back then and I covered it so well.”

She said at the time she did not have the tools to deal with anxiety professionally as she did not take therapy.

The singer said all she remembers from the event was that her feet and fingers went numb from anxiety.

The 35-year-old said now that she looks back on the time she feels it was “insane” she was able to work “while enduring such severe anxiety.”
