Matt Damon shares peculiar way he approached ‘The Odyssey’
The actor stars as Greek King Odysseus in the movie
Matt Damon has shared how he approached the highly coveted lead role in Christopher Nolan’s anticipated project The Odyssey.
The movie will be Nolan’s first film since he won Oscar for Oppenheimer starring Cillian Murphy in 2024.
Speaking of his role as the Greek King Odysseus, Matt Damon said he approached the role in a manner he has never before.
The 55-year-old spoke about the movie in the new Time magazine profile of the celebrated filmmaker who is known for movies like Interstellar, Inception, Dunkirk and many more.
He said “I looked at this like the last movie I'd ever do.”
Matt plays the key role in the retelling of Homer’s epic which follows the story of the king’s journey home after the Trojan war.
“Movies like this are not getting made anymore. To do this without a green screen, the way that David Lean would have done it, I don't know anybody, with the exception of Chris, that's even trying to do that,” he continued.
The Martian star said that playing the role was the most rewarding experience of his Hollywood career.
The movie releases worldwide on July 17.
