Billy Ray Cyrus marked a reflective moment as he paid tribute to two important women in his life, his ex-wife and his late mother, through a heartfelt musical post.

On Wednesday, May 13, the country star shared a video of himself performing his 2007 track Ready, Set, Don’t Go on acoustic guitar, dedicating the performance to "Hannah Montana Nation and all our friends at Disney. "

In the post, Cyrus reflected on the dual birthdays of his ex-wife, Tish Cyrus, and his late mother Ruth Ann “Ruthie” Casto, noting the emotional timing of the song.

Casto, who passed away in August 2022 at the age of 85, was also honoured in his message.

“My mom, Ruthie, [it] happens to be her birthday tomorrow,” Cyrus said in the video. “Somehow this song felt very appropriate for today.”

He also highlighted the lyric, “Got stars in her eyes, the prize is hers to win,” in the caption, tying the sentiment to both women he was honouring.

“Two of the greatest mothers EVER were born on this day and tomorrow,” he wrote, referencing Casto and Tish, who celebrated her 58th birthday. “Happy Birthday Tish. Wishing you peace, love, and happiness ... forever.”

Cyrus and Tish were married for more than 28 years before separating in April 2022. They share five children, including Miley, Noah, Brandi, Trace, and Braison Cyrus.

The song, originally featured on his album Home at Last, was also famously recorded as a duet with his daughter, Miley Cyrus, and featured on the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, later performed during her Best of Both Worlds Tour.
