Mouni Roy confirm separation after 4 years of marriage
In a joint statement, Muni Roy and businessman Suraj Nambiar announced that they had decided to part ways
After much speculation about troubles in marriage, actor Mouni Roy finally cleared the air and confirmed her separation from her husband, Suraj Nambiar.
On Thursday, May 14, in a joint statement shared on Instagram, the 40-year-old actress and her estranged husband expressed disappointment over the “unnecessary and intrusive attention” on their personal lives and revealed that they had decided to part ways.
The statement reads, “We note with dismay the unnecessary and intrusive attention into our personal lives by certain quarters of the media.”
The Naagin actor further added, “We would like to state that we have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably.”
They also appealed to fans and media outlets to respect their privacy and avoid spreading false narratives about either of them during this time.
Chatter about trouble in the London Confidential lead’s marriage to businessman Suraj Nambiar started on Tuesday when fans noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
The buzz grew stronger after fans claimed that not only had the two distanced themselves on social media but the Gold actor lead reportedly archived or deleted pictures with her husband, while Suraj deleted his Instagram account.
This activity was followed by reports about the unverified reason behind their reported separation. Some claims suggested that Suraj cheated on Mouni “to gain fame” and that the couple were no longer living together.
Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar got married in Goa on January 27, 2022. The festivities followed the traditional Malayali wedding and the Bengali ceremony to honour both cultures.
Mouni is known for television shows like Naagin and Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev, along with films such as Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva and Gold.
