Tom Cruise has been spotted arriving in signature high-octane style just weeks after Paramount Pictures confirmed that Top Gun 3 is officially in development.
The Oscar-winning actor was seen touching down at the London Heliport on Thursday, May 14, before later walking through the airport terminal where he greeted staff.
Cruise kept it understated in a collared black jacket paired with matching black trousers and finished the look with his trademark aviator sunglasses.
His appearance comes shortly after the announcement that the 2022 blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick will be followed by a third instalment.
The sequel was confirmed during Paramount’s presentation at CinemaCon on April 16, where studio executive Josh Greenstein revealed that the project is “officially in development with a script underway,” with Cruise set to reprise his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.
Although Cruise did not appear in person at the CinemaCon announcement, he featured in a pre-recorded video message filmed atop the iconic Paramount water tower in Los Angeles.
In the clip, he told fans, “The future looks pretty great from here,” teasing the franchise’s continued expansion.
Cruise’s most recent public appearance before that was also at CinemaCon, where he supported Warner Bros.’ presentation of Digger, an upcoming comedy directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, scheduled for release on October 2.
