Aamir Khan recently took a dig at the concept of method acting after he opened up about his much-awaited 3 idiots sequel.

The 61-year-old actor, who usually makes headlines for his candid comments, shared his unfiltered thoughts on people who claim to be 'method actors'.

In an exclusive conversation with Screen Academy, the Dangal star said that sometimes celebrities take time to come out of that meditative state.

Speaking to Priyanka Sinha Jha, he said, "I agree. When you're in that moment and the director says 'cut,' the whole world has moved on, but you're still there. You're thinking, 'Oh, was that correct or not?' So I'm still stuck in that same. But it takes 15-20 minutes for you to come out of it. But I've never become the character. Never. Not in all these years. I suppose it gives you a lot of freedom to misbehave, by saying, 'Oh, I'm still in character, I'm still in character.' I don't do all that mischief."

During his appearance at a Screen Academy Masterclass, the PK actor also reflected on his acting skills, saying that he has never been completely immersed in the character.

"That has never happened to me. And I have been doing this for some 38 years now," he added. "If with great difficulty, I become the character for even 30 seconds during a shot, that's a huge thing. But in real life, to become that character, well, that's impossible for me. I am not that good an actor."

This comes on the heels of Khan announcing the sequel of Rajkumar Hirani's 3 idiots.

It is pertinent to mention that the audience will be witnessing the return of the iconic trio, but with a significant time jump.

For the unversed, 3 idiots, which was released in 2009, turned out to be a major box office hit.
