Adam Driver has addressed comments made by his former Girls co-star Lena Dunham in her newly released memoir, Famesick.
Speaking during a press conference for his latest film, Paper Tiger, at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, May 17, Driver briefly reacted to the claims discussed in Dunham’s book.
When asked about the memoir, the actor replied, “I’m saving it all for my book,” prompting laughter from the audience, according to a video shared by Deadline.
Before making the joke, Driver also stated that he had “no comment on any of that.”
In Famesick, Dunham reflects on several aspects of her personal and professional life, including chronic illness, relationships, and her years creating and starring in the HBO series Girls.
The memoir also touches on her complicated dynamic with Driver, who played Adam Sackler on the show.
Dunham wrote that the actor could be “verbally aggressive” and claimed that he once “hurled a chair at the wall” beside her.
She further described their relationship as difficult to fully understand, writing, “The more I knew him, the less I understood.”
Dunham also revealed that the pair had not spoken since Girls ended in 2017 and admitted she was “heartbroken” after learning Driver had become engaged during that period.
Famesick is now available for purchase.
