Amy Schumer reveals medical complications after botched colonoscopy
Amy Schumer has opened up about a recent medical complication, revealing that a botched colonoscopy has left her feeling unwell despite embracing a positive personal phase in her life.
The comedian made the comments during a May 17 appearance at a Dear Media event for the podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, where she spoke candidly about her health and recent weight loss.
While host Amanda Hirsch complimented her transformation and asked whether it was linked to feeling more confident, Schumer clarified that the situation was unrelated.
“I actually had kind of a botched colonoscopy, so I’m not feeling very sexual,” the Trainwreck star said, adding a humorous but candid note to the discussion.
Schumer also shared that she is currently experiencing a happier period in her life following her separation from estranged husband Chris Fischer, with whom she shares a seven-year-old son, Gene.
Despite the personal changes, she emphasised that her recent health issue has impacted how she has been feeling physically.
While she did not provide further details about the procedure, she joked with the audience, saying, “See, that’s another thing you’re not going to have to worry about for 15 years.”
Schumer has long been open about her personal life and health struggles, including previously discussing her diagnosis with Cushing syndrome and how it affected her weight and overall wellbeing.
