'Harry Potter' star quit HBO series after season one
'Harry Potter' series first season is set to premiere on Christmas
Gracie Cochrane, who played a pivotal role in Harry Potter reboot, has exited the show after the airing of season one.
The young star will be playing Ginny Weasley Ron’s little sister in Harry Potter series season one, which is set to air on the streaming giant on Christmas.
However, the latest reports have suggested that Gracie has left the show after filming the first season.
Earlier today, Cochrane’s family released a statement in which they disclosed that she has made a challenging decision of stepping away from the show.
The statement read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances Gracie has made the challenging decision to step away from her role as Ginny Weasley in the HBO Harry Potter series after season one.”
It continued, “Her time as part of the Harry Potter world has been truly wonderful, and she is deeply grateful to Lucy Bevan and the entire production team for creating such an unforgettable experience.
"Gracie is very excited about the opportunities her future holds”, the statement concluded.
After the family released a public statement, HBO also came forward to show support for Gracie’s choice.
They said, "We support Gracie Cochrane and her family’s decision not to return for the next season of HBO’s Harry Potter series, and we are grateful for her work on season one of the show. We wish Gracie and her family the best."
