Actor Rhea Chakraborty has decided to stay away from social media for a while, saying the nonstop online environment has become mentally tiring for her. 

In a personal message posted on Instagram, the 33-year-old  shared that she no longer wants to stay caught up in the pressure of constantly being online and now hopes to focus more on herself and real-life experiences.

Opening up to her followers, the Half Girlfriend actress wrote, “Lately, I've been missing myself a little. The constant noise, the scrolling, the keeping up - it's all started to feel heavier than I expected. I miss being present without thinking about capturing the moment. I miss quiet. I miss simply being."

"So, I'm taking a step back for a while - to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and reconnect with what feels real. Choosing lived moments over posted ones, for now. See you soon.”

Rhea has been in the public spotlight ever since she was arrested in 2020 during the probe into the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

The Jalebi actor faced accusations connected to a drugs case related to the investigation. She was also accused of misusing the actor’s money. After spending 28 days in jail, she was later granted bail.

Over the past few years, she has slowly made her way back into public life while continuing to deal with media attention and constant conversations around her personal matters online.

On the work front, Rhea is getting ready to return to acting with the Netflix series Family Business.

The drama is being directed by Hansal Mehta and stars Anil Kapoor, Vijay Varma, Neha Dhupia and Dhruv Sehgal in important roles.

The project will mark Rhea’s acting comeback after seven years. She was last seen in the thriller Chehre alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi.
