Karan Johar-backed romantic drama Chand Mera Dil finally released in theatres on Friday and social media is already talking about it. 

Starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya in the lead roles, the film had created buzz much before release because of its fresh pairing and emotional love story. 

The trailer had already hinted that this is not a typical Bollywood romance full of happy moments. Instead, the film focuses on misunderstandings, emotional baggage and second chances between two young lovers. 

Now, after the first shows, X (formerly Twitter) is filled with reactions about Ananya and Lakshya’s chemistry, emotional scenes and whether the film actually lives up to the hype.

An X user shows disappointment in his review, writing, “#ChandMeraDil explores some interesting and relevant themes but my god…is it the most weirdly shot Hindi film I have seen in years The omnipresent nature of the sun, the lens flares, the odd & consistent cutaways in between dialogues. So disorienting!”

While a second user  give 4 star rating and praise the film “The movie is actually really good! The first initial portion was typical, fast-paced, sweet. However, as the story progressed, the movie gets deeper, intense, and meaningful every passing moment. Tho, i won’t spoil it whatsoever, it’s defo worth a watch.”

A third user expressed his views as, "#ChandMeraDil is a beautifully crafted romantic drama with intense emotions,heartfelt stortelling & soulful vibes! @ananyapandayyYour flawless act,screen presence & emotional depth elevate it greatly. Chandni’s portrayal is immaculate & impactful,your best performance till date!"

However, some more users painted a totally different picture, writing,   "It’s high time 3, 4 given by critics will not make audience go and watch the film #chandmeradil"

 Another wrote, "#ChandMeraDil Empty Shows Everywhere, This is what happens when you serve HALF-BAKED GEN-Z AWKWARDNESS , Audience has spoken. Massive theatrical disaster."

Directed by Vivek Soni and backed by Dharma Productions, the film tries to show modern relationships, heartbreak and complicated emotions in a simple way.
