Santy Sharma the Indian rapper and sort of independent music artist said that “Cockroach Janta Party” looks like “more internet drama than a serious movement” in a pretty strong social media post.

On his Instagram page he wrote, "Cockroach Janata Party feels more like internet drama than a serious movement,” and in the same breath he added that lots of people just end up following online trends without actually thinking them through or questioning anything.

He also claimed that the party’s founder Abhijeet Dipke had earlier been connected with Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party, and that Dipke had shared a number of posts before posts which Santy felt were critical of India itself.

Sharma went on to say that if the intention was really rooted in nationalism then the attention should be on handling the actual concerns like jobs and education not like emotionally pushing Gen Z towards street protests you know they should be more practical about it.

“No political party is perfect, including the BJP and criticism is part of democracy. But creating unnecessary instability, outrage culture and online propaganda is not the solution for India’s growth,” he wrote.

According to him, India needs some meaningful talks and real solutions not “chaos driven by viral trends.”

His comments around social media influence digital activism and online political culture triggered pretty strong reactions across platforms like Instagram, X and YouTube.
