Jungkook's annoyed facial expressions at AMAs 2026 spark fan theories
BTS fans are speculating online after Jungkook appeared visibly serious
BTS made a major return at the 2026 American Music Awards marking the group’s first joint appearance at an awards show in four years.
The group made up of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook achieved a clean sweep at the ceremony winning all three awards they were nominated for.
However while the night was largely celebratory for fans online discussion quickly turned toward Jungkook after several fan-recorded videos showed him appearing serious and visibly uncomfortable during parts of the event.
Some fans claimed the singer may have noticed a controversial longtime fansite operator in the audience.
According to online discussions the individual has previously been accused by sections of the fandom of invasive behaviour associated with “sasaeng” culture which is a term used in South Korea for obsessive fans who invade celebrities’ privacy.
Fans discussing the videos pointed to past moments where Jungkook allegedly avoided certain cameras or crowd sections at public events though none of the claims circulating online has been officially confirmed.
Despite the online speculation BTS dominated the ceremony taking home Artist of the Year along with Song of the Summer for their track Swim from the album ARIRANG. The group also won Best Male K-Pop Artist.
