The makers of Shakti Shalini revealed fresh details about the film after completing its final shooting schedule. The movie, backed by Maddock Films, had been based on Bengali folklore and supernatural elements.

Indian actress Aneet Padda played a double role in the film. She had portrayed Shakti, a woman who became a protector, and Shalini, a spirit seeking revenge after facing betrayal and death.

The film had combined horror, revenge drama and folklore-based storytelling. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the project completed its final schedule with a large climax sequence filmed at Chitrarth Studio in Powai on May 27.

According to reports, the climax had focused on villagers celebrating the defeat of evil. Large sets were reportedly built to recreate village scenes and house interiors for the sequence.

The shoot had moved across several locations over the past few months. Earlier schedules were completed in parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Actor Viineet Kumar Siingh had also filmed important scenes with Aneet Padda during the outdoor schedule.

Nana Patekar and Seema Biswas had joined the film during its later schedules. The cast also included Vishal Jethwa.

Aditya Sarpotdar, who directed Munjya and Thamma, will lead the new project, which aims to develop the franchise through its darker storytelling approach.

The plot details remain undisclosed but reports indicate that Viineet will perform his role as a "dark and gritty" character who poses significant threats to the film's main hero.

Aneet has been cast in the titular role, marking her entry into the Maddock universe. The casting follows her recent rise in visibility after her performance in Saiyaara which Mohit Suri directed in 2025.

A source quoted in reports said, “The sequence showed the village people, especially women, celebrating the defeat of evil.”

With filming now completed, Shakti Shalini became the latest addition to Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe after titles such as Stree, Munjya and Bhediya.
