Hombale Films announces ‘Yeto Ka Naay’, a hip-hop musical set in Mumbai
After ‘Kantara’ and ‘Salaar’, Hombale Films backs hip-hop drama ‘Yeto Ka Naay’
Production banner of Hombale Films has officially come out with the upcoming project called Yeto Ka Naay it is a hip-hop musical drama set in and around Mumbai backdrop.
Alongside the Marathi title, the makers also dropped the Hindi version of the film titled YKN-Pehla Vaar.
Known for helping big budget movies across various Indian film industries Hombale Films said the new project will lean into youth culture, music, connections and finding yourself through a plot that is tied to the city’s changing hip hop scene.
They put it out that way a bit and it sounds like the emphasis is on that whole vibe rather than just a straight-up formula.
The film is being made by Vijay Kiragandur and also directed by Sarang Sanjeev Sathaye. The screenplay together with writing duties are shared between Sarang Sanjeev Sathaye, Sujay Jadhav, Srushti Tawade and Shreyas Sagvekar in a way that feels pretty spread out.
The cinematography is being taken care of by Harshvir Oberai while the songs and score music is composed by AV Prafullachandra.
According to the makers the story is kind of fully placed in Mumbai and it’s supposed to unpack ideas about friendship, love, identity and ambition sort of through the underground plus contemporary music scene lens.
The production house also said that the film mixes Marathi hip-hop elements with this heartfelt coming of age type of narrative.
