One Direction’s split wasn’t just a shock to the world, but it was also one to the members of the group.

The globally acclaimed English Irish boyband broke records and matched the level of The Beatles during the 2010s.

Consisting of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, the pop rock group was formed on X-Factor in 2010 and remained active until 2016.

Malik was the first one to exit in 2015 and a year later, the remaining members also announced their indefinite hiatus.

Time and again, the boys talk about the unfortunate split. Years later, Tomlinson has again addressed the saddening event.

In a statement, the Imposter singer confessed that he never expected that to happen as he always thought that the band would remain forever.

“It wasn’t as if I’d gone through the band imagining that one day we might break up, I had completely romanticized the whole thing. I thought we were gonna be in the band forever. So those emotions and that comprehension was happening for me in real time.”

All the former 1D bandmates are pursuing their solo careers now with each one of them releasing their new albums.

Not just that, Harry, Niall, Louis and Zayn are hitting the roads with their solo music tours.
