Demi Moore suffers emotional blow as pet dog Pilaf dies
The ‘Ghost’ star heartbroken as famous travel companion dog passes away at age five
Demi Moore has been left emotionally shaken following the tragic loss of her beloved pet.
According to a recent report by the Daily Mail, the 63-year-old American actress and producer’s micro-chihuahua, Pilaf, has passed away at the age of five.
Moore’s dog previously appeared with her at several red carpet events and talk shows, but it has not been featured on her Instagram since March 3, 2026, before the Actor Awards.
No new posts have appeared on the pet’s account on the social media platform since late February.
The Oscar-nominated star once said she brought Pilaf along on nearly every trip, joking that the dog had more travel experience than most people.
"She’s like my little friend, my partner. She stretched out on that Air France La Premiere flight. She loved it. She's my little travel mate and she’s just a joy," she told HELLO! Magazine.
Moore added, "I usually have her in my little sling. We go everywhere – she’s been to the French Open, the Louvre, and Broadway shoes. She just saw Romeo and Juliet with Tom Holland in London. She was quite moved. She thought the performance was extraordinary, as it was."
Pilaf, who has more than 30K followers on social media, was described by the Disclosure actress as "quite a star."
When did Demi Moore adopt Pilaf?
Demi Moore adopted Pilaf in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pint-sized pup was flown from Thailand to Los Angeles to join the actress, who has yet to publicly confirm the news of the pet’s passing.
