Triptii Dimri reflects on unfair judgment of female actors after ‘Animal’
Triptii Dimri opens up about 'unfair' backlash after 'Animal' success
Triptii Dimri recently reflected on “unfair” and intense scrutiny she faced despite delivering a commendable performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal
The 32-year-old actress, who earned massive acclaim for her supporting role as Zoya in the action-thriller, has spoken about the backlash she received despite the film’s success.
During her recent conversation with India Today, she criticised the judgmental nature of the audience.
Speaking to the outlet, she said, “It is difficult. I try to put on a strong face sometimes and be like, ‘No, it doesn’t affect me. I don’t get affected, or I am going to push it under the rug.’ But it doesn’t work that way, it does somewhere, pinch you. It is a film that I did, and I am proud of it. There is nothing about that film that I’m not proud of. It is a choice that I made for myself, and I was comfortable with. And I think I am proud of every film that I have done, whether it is Bulbbul or whether it is Qala.”
Later in the interaction, the Laila Majnu star expressed frustration over the way women are often scrutinised in the film industry.
She added, “It is not fair, I feel. We are very quick to judge. And only the girl.”
It is pertinent to mention that Dimri played the role of a mysterious woman Zoya Riaz, alongside Ranbir Kapoor.
Meanwhile, the Qala actress is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Maa Behen, which also features Madhuri Dixit, Dharna Durga, and Ravi Kishan in the pivotal roles.
Suresh Triveni’s much-awaited directorial is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, June 4.
