Producer Jyoti Deshpande has opened up about the financial aspects of Dhurandhar, revealing why Ranveer Singh charged a smaller fee for the film.

In an exclusive interview with ET Digital, the producer spoke at length about adopting a risk-sharing model to bring the blockbuster franchise to life.

She told the outlet, “In Dhurandhar, Ranveer came on board with a smaller fixed fee and a backend deal, and therefore benefited from that arrangement. The same was true for Aditya Dhar, who also accepted a smaller fixed fee and a backend deal. He ended up earning significant gains alongside us. That’s how you distribute both risk and reward.”

In addition, she revealed the strategy behind the franchise’s success, which involved securing backend deals rather than relying on large  payments.

“On Dhurandhar, we went all in. The film ultimately cost almost twice what we had initially budgeted. Of course, it eventually became a two-part film, so it turned into quite a journey. In the end, all of us went laughing to the bank,” she added.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan in key roles.
