A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Athelston Mayers, has finally issued a statement nearly three months after a woman allegedly fired shots into his and his girlfriend Rihanna’s Beverly Hills residence.

Speaking with Vibe, the 37-year-old American rapper and record producer revealed that the frightening incident deeply affected him and his family.

"It was f***** up ... somebody attempted [harming] me and my family," Rocky said.

Recounting the traumatic experience, he shared how it felt as though he had lost the right to simply "be free."

The Fashion Killa hitmaker added, ​"It took away a lot of peace and happiness of being able to just be free. I don’t want to be robbed of my peace and joy."

On March 8, 2026, a shooting incident allegedly took place at the home of A$AP and Rihanna while they were inside with their children. A woman named Ivanna Lisette Ortiz is accused of firing shots during the incident.

She has since been charged with attempted murder and several felony weapons charges, however, Ortiz claimed in court that she did not intend to commit murder.
