Robert Pattinson reveals how Christopher Nolan reacted to his 'Batman' casting
Robert Pattinson to collaborate with Christopher Nolan again after 2020
Robert Pattinson has unveiled the first reaction of Christopher Nolan when he got cast as Batman in Matt Reeves’ film.
Pattinson is all set to reunite with Nolan after 2020’s film Tenet for upcoming film The Odyssey.
Recently, the Twilight star sat down with his co-stars Tom Holland and Matt Damon to discuss their experience of working with the Oscar winning director on The Odyssey.
During the chat, Robert also shared how Chris reacted when he found out about his casting as Batman.
In conversation with GQ, the 40-year-old recalled, “I remember talking to Chris when I first got the job and it was very, very secret,” Pattinson said.
The Oppenheimer director’s first reaction was, “So what did they make the cape out of? Just so curious, and I was like ‘it’s kind of like messed up looking.’ And he was like, ‘no no, it should always look, like, pristine. No matter if you’re blown up or anything.”
Pattinson confessed, “I was like, oh interesting I’d never even thought about it. And I was like, ‘oh I’m sort of doing the opposite.”
Nolan is globally acclaimed for directing the Batman series featuring Christian Bale. He even bagged an Oscar for The Dark Knight starring late Heath Ledger as Joker.
The Academy winning director is returning with another highly anticipated film of 2026 The Odyssey featuring Matt, Robert, Tom, Anne Hathaway and Zendaya.
