Actor Hina Khan has strongly reacted after Shilpa Shinde admitted that the sexual harassment allegations she made against Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain producer Sanjay Kohli in 2016 were false.

The 48-year-old actress made the revelation during a recent chat with comedians Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa. 

The actor said she had accused the producer because she had “no other option” during a contractual dispute and wanted a way out of the situation.

The confession has sparked fresh debate online, with many focusing on its impact beyond the long-running TV controversy.

Responding on X, the  Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame said she usually avoids commenting on other people's matters but felt compelled to speak because the issue affects society, especially women.

"Yes, using your sex to malign someone’s image in order to Win during a conflict is absolutely shameful," she wrote.

The 28-year-old actress shifted attention to what she called the "Real Victim" in the case, referring to producer Sanjay Kohli. She said he and his family had suffered because of allegations that Shilpa now admits were baseless.

"I am shocked beyond words," Hina wrote, adding that the accusations were allegedly used "to gain advantage, to win, to score, to claim, to settle without the utilisation of Law."

She also questioned why the producer later gave Shilpa another opportunity on the same show despite the controversy. "I am appalled," she said.

Hina ended her post with the caption, "The joke is on us."

The development comes after Shilpa returned to Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain in 2025. 

The actor has said she now shares a good relationship with the show's team and returned because of its writer.
