Jason Momoa details challenges playing dream role 'Lobo' in 'Supergirl'
Jason Momoa to play antagonist 'Lobo' in DCU after 'Aquaman'
Jason Momoa’s dream role “Lobo” was after all not easy playing as it looked to him.
The Aquaman actor is all set to play another big role in the DC universe in the upcoming Supergirl movie featuring Milly Alcock.
Directed by Craig Gillespie, the new action sci-fi movie is going to star Alcock’s Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl against Momoa’s "Lobo."
When Jason bagged the role, he made a special announcement through his Instagram handle while disclosing that he always wanted to play this DC villain.
However, the character wasn’t easy to play due to all the make up and prosthetics.
In a recent chat with Fandango, the Fast X actor shared, “I’ve never been covered up that much. My nails, my teeth, hair, prosthetics on the face, like body, everything’s covered. So, I never really had kind of that experience.”
“And you’re like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna learn how to play Lobo. I’m gonna do the lines, I’m gonna try to find this, I’m gonna try that. But when you put all that shit on and you open your eyes and they’re big, bright red lenses. All these things kind of come out”, he continued.
The interviewers also pointed out the humourous slement Jason brought into the character. “I‘m just trying to find that too”, he said.
There were some of the scenes that he thought would be eliminated but director Craig kept them and Jason was surprised to see them.
Supergirl is set to hit theatres on June 26.
