Niall Horan has unveiled how End of an Era became a Liam Payne song.

The former One Direction singer released this song from his upcoming album Dinner Party, for Niall had already prepared the concept, title and melody.

But after Payne’s sudden passing, it got easier for him write the lyrics as they came straight from his heart.

At a recent event, the Slow Hands hitmaker added, “I’m glad that I did and I think it’s the best way to put it… something that is so difficult to talk about. I had the title and the melody everything for like 18 months maybe.”

“It was a song about a similar feeling of letting go of your past but looking back with nostalgia and being happy about the present and looking forward to the future.”

According to Niall, Liam’s passing flipped the whole thing around. “It still became a song about looking back with nostalgia and the happy times.”

He confessed that usually takes him months to write a song, but after Liam’s passing, it took him maximum 10 minutes to pen the lyrics of End of an Era.

Horan’s fourth solo album Dinner Party is scheduled to release tomorrow, Jun 5.
