Michael Jackson’s legacy continues to dominate the music world with a new posthumous record.

According to Billboard, the late legendary musician has become the only artist with Hot 100 songs across six decades, from the 1970s to the 2020s.

The record marks his 52nd solo Hot 100 hit, following his first entry in 1972 with Got to Be There.

The achievement came after Chicago, a track from his posthumous 2014 album Xscape, debuted at No. 30 on the Hot 100.

The track drew 10.7 million U.S. streams during the May 22–28 chart week, increasing by 30 percent from the previous week.

The song saw consistent streaming growth, climbing from 3.8 million streams in the May 9 tracking week to 8.3 million by May 30.

The milestone extends Jackson’s Hot 100 run across six decades, spanning the 1970s to the 2020s.

Chicago saw an increase in streams after the release of the record-breaking Michael biopic in late April 2026.
