Madhuri Dixit fan gifts 400 fruit saplings to celebrate ‘Maa Behen’
Sardar has been celebrating Madhuri Dixit’s birthday every May 15 since 1998 and said this gesture combined his love for the actress with environmental awareness
A fan of Indian actress Madhuri Dixit celebrated the release of her Netflix film Maa Behen by giving away 400 fruit saplings in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
Pappu Sardar, who runs a chaat shop in Sakchi market, handed out mango, guava, litchi, and blackberry saplings to farmers and villagers.
Sardar said he chose recipients who showed interest in gardening to ensure the saplings were planted and cared for. “I am focusing on farmers and villagers who come to Jamshedpur for work, because I believe they will plant and care for the saplings, making this initiative successful,” he told PTI.
The initiative began a day before World Environment Day and drew crowds to Sardar’s shop, where songs from Maa Behen played. He added that the saplings would not only support the environment but could also provide income when they bore fruit.
Sardar has been celebrating Madhuri Dixit’s birthday every May 15 since 1998 and said this gesture combined his love for the actress with environmental awareness. “Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘one sapling in the name of mother,’ I decided to give away 400 fruit saplings a day before World Environment Day and to celebrate the release of Madhuri Dixit’s Maa Behen,” he added.
Maa Behen, directed by Suresh Triveni, is a dark comedy starring Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Dharna Durga, and Ravi Kishan.
