Taylor Swift’s secretive strategy to keep her recently released track I Knew It, I Knew You for Toy Story 5 a secret from fans, after long-standing speculation, has finally been unveiled.

Following the successful secrecy of the project, VFX supervisor Thomas Jordan spoke to Variety at a promotion event for the forthcoming animated film, sharing insights into how the collaboration was protected from leaking during early screenings.

“Turns out, Taylor Swift is a huge Toy Story fan like many of us,” Jordan said.

He added, “She actually saw an early version of the film, she requested to see it before it was finished and she wrote the song and then asked us if we wanted it. And we said, ‘Uh, yes! Yes we do.' That was in February, so we've had to keep it a secret ever since then.”

According to Jordan, the 14-time Grammy winner’s song remained known to only a small circle, as a “decoy cut” of the film was used during early press and staff screenings.

He further revealed that even the “crew that made Toy Story 5 did not know about this secret until last week.”
