The controversy began during the traditional pre-race grid walk when veteran Sky Sports presenter Martin Brundle approached the sisters for a brief live television interview.

Video from the event appeared to show Brundle attempting to ask the pair a question before they continued walking without stopping to engage in conversation.

The moment quickly spread across social media where viewers offered mixed reactions.

Some Formula 1 fans criticised the incident arguing that Brundle’s grid walk interviews are a long-standing part of race-day coverage and should be respected by celebrity guests attending the event.

Others however defended Kardashian suggesting she may not have heard the question amid the noise and activity surrounding the grid before the race.

She was photographed throughout the event in a cream-coloured outfit and was later seen watching the action from a VIP area alongside Khloé.

The appearance also generated renewed interest in Kardashian’s reported relationship with Hamilton who is competing in his first season with Ferrari following his high-profile move from Mercedes.
