Despite months of rumours and uncertainty, filmmaker Anees Bazmee has made it clear that No Entry 2 is still very much in the works.

The sequel to the 2005 hit film has been making headlines for a long time because of delays, casting reports and scheduling problems. However the 63-year-old filmmaker says there is no reason to doubt the film's future.

Speaking to HT City, the director avoided sharing too many details but confirmed that the project has not been put on hold. 

When asked if the film was still happening, he replied “100 percent the film is happening.”

Talking about the delay, he said some films simply take longer to come together. “Kuch filmon ki kundli hoti hai. Main maanta hoon ki kundli hoti hai. Kabhi koi film jaldi ban jaati hai, kabhi der se banti hai. Lekin Inshallah, hum sabki koshish hai ki yeh film bane.”

The director also spoke highly of the script and said it is among the best he has written. “Maine is film ko bahut pyaar se likha hai. Yeh meri best-written films mein se ek hai. Thoda waqt lagg raha hai par film zaroora aa bann rahi hai.”

Bazmee added that everyone attached to the film remains enthusiastic about the project. “Jo bhi log is film se jude hue hain, sab bahut excited hain. Aur log is film ko bahut pasand karenge,” he ends.

No Entry 2 has been in the news largely because of the changes linked to its cast.

Producer Boney Kapoor had earlier announced a new lineup featuring Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh.

Since then reports of date clashes and scheduling issues have surrounded the project. 

Diljit later stepped away from the film, with Kapoor saying the decision was friendly and mainly due to scheduling problems. Recent reports have also suggested that Varun may no longer be part of the sequel.

There has also been speculation about other actors joining the project, including Shahid Kapoor, but so far no official confirmation has been made.
