Esha Deol has opened up about her relationship with ex-husband Bharat Takhtani.

The 44-year-old actress was married for 12 years before parting ways in 2024. The couple shares two daughters namely Radhya and Miraya.

Following her divorce, people started calling her a single mother. However, she has put an end to this label as Esha unveiled how she and Bharat co-parent their children even after splitting up.

In an interview, the Dhoom actress shared, “I would say that while I am single, I don’t see myself as a single mom. By the grace of God, Bharat and I are very much a team when it comes to co-parenting our daughters.”

She continued, “I don’t like to think of myself as a single mother because I don’t behave like one, nor do I let the other person behave that way with me.”

Deol emphasized that it is important to understand the role changes even if a couple gets divorced, especially when they have children.

“The two mature individuals must take it upon themselves to work out in another dynamic, but keep the unit together for the sake of the children. And that’s exactly what Bharat and I do”, she added.

Esha, who is the daughter of late Indian actor Dharmendra and Hema Malini, tied the knot with Bharat in 2012.
