Eros Innovation announced a major expansion of its film franchises during London Tech Week on Wednesday, introducing new plans for several popular Hindi films including Tere Naam and Rangeela.

The company revealed three major creative directions under its new content strategy: Eros Brahmand, Eros Universe, and Eros Remastered. These initiatives aim to expand storytelling across mythology, classic films, and popular movie franchises.

Under the Eros Universe plan, six well-known films are set to receive new story extensions. These include Tanu Weds Manu, Phobia, English Vinglish, Desi Boyz, Rangeela, and Tere Naam.

According to the announcement, these projects will not continue with the original characters. Instead, they will explore new stories and new characters based on the original film worlds. This means Tere Naam may return as a spiritual sequel without Salman Khan’s character Radhe, while Rangeela is also expected to move forward without its original cast.

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Rangeela was released in 1995 and became a major musical hit. It also made Urmila Matondkar a widely recognized name. Tere Naam, released in 2003 and directed by Satish Kaushik, remained one of Salman Khan’s most discussed films.

The slate also includes Tanu Weds Manu – The Next Chapter, which will continue the popular franchise that starred Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan. The film is expected to begin production in 2026.

Other titles such as English Vinglish, starring the late Sridevi, and Desi Boyz, featuring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham, are also part of the expansion plan. The 2016 film Phobia, starring Radhika Apte, will also receive a new narrative extension.

Another initiative, Eros Remastered, will focus on restoring older films for modern audiences, starting with Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan.

The company said the goal is to build a large storytelling ecosystem that connects mythology, classic cinema, and modern franchise storytelling across multiple formats.
