Callum Turner is one of the frontrunners for the 007 role

British actor Callum Turner has addressed the long-standing rumours of him being the next James Bond.

The actor was named among the likes of Idris Elba, Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Calvin Harris and Joe Alwyn to be the next face of the iconic British superspy series.

It was announced that Daniel Craig has stepped down from the role after the 2021 installment of the franchise and a new face will be cast to be the famous Bond.

Now, Callum has weighed in on the rumours.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said “I know as much as you do - really, I know as much as you do …”

Callum said “I’ll tell you what’s so funny about the Bond thing: Even your best friends ask you, people text you that you haven’t spoken to for 10 years - and you know nothing!”

The actor, who recently tied the knot with pop star Dua Lipa, continued to insist that he does not know anything as of now.

Earlier it was announced that the hunt for the new James Bond has officially began which is led by Dune creator Denis Villeneuve who will direct the new movie.
