Apple TV+ has confirmed that Slow Horses will return for its sixth season on September 16.

The six-episode season will run weekly with new episodes releasing every Wednesday until October 21.

The series follows a group of MI5 agents who have been relegated to Slough House a department for failed operatives led by Jackson Lamb whose character is played by Gary Oldman.

Season 6 is based on Mick Herron’s sixth and seventh novels Joe Country and Slough House.

This time MI5 deputy head Diana Taverner played by Kristin Scott Thomas draws the Slough House team into what is described as a “fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge" forcing them into a dangerous mission.

Gary Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb alongside Jack Lowden as River Cartwright.

Other returning cast members include Christopher Chung, Saskia Reeves, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving.

Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West and Ruth Bradley also return for the new season. Newcomer Lenny Rush joins the cast in Season 6.

The series is adapted for television by Gaby Chiappe with Adam Randall directing.

Slow Horses launched in 2022 and has become one of Apple TV+’s most successful dramas earning multiple BAFTA and Emmy nominations across its cast and crew.
